We checked in a local hotel and got ready for our day's trip.First, we went to the Salar Jung Museum by 12 noon to watch the age old clock ring the time. Then we took a look at the Charminar from the inside of our car!
We went to boating even though it was drizzling we enjoyed this one!
We took a night train to Aurangabad and reached there around 2am the next day morning!
We took a cab booked already to reach Shani Shinganapur! We took a room from the trust and got ready for the darshan.
After the darshan we went to Shirdi. We had our breakfast on a roadside dhaba,i didn't go for dosas as my parents and in-laws,instead i got myself,pav-bhaji,which was ok!We reached Shirdi, booked two rooms and then went to darshan. There was a big queue and it almost took us 4 hrs for the darshan!
We had our so-called lunch by 3p.m. on a road side dhaba and their dosas were really terrible to say the least!
That day we stayed in Shirdi and both my parents and in-laws had another darshan.I was too tired to stand in the queue!
The next day we went to Nashik. We started around 5:30 am.The route was not so good but the views were really awesome and weather was like "Let me rain or not!"We did not want rain to spoil our visit to Godavari's origin. But then, nature has it's own way, isn't it?
We first planned to go to the Triambakeshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas!By the time we reached the premises it was pouring! We all got Plastic covers to cover ourselves.....Then we went to the temple premises and collected tickets for performing pooja there,a priest approached us and with the Hindi we knew we agreed upon an amount and went inside the temple! That day being Nag Panchami day, there was huge crowd, which we didn't think of before.
To mention about the temple's architecture,it was an very old temple with carvings in stone and as it was pouring heavily,we couldn't go through the architecture in minute details. But, i noticed that there were Lingas resembling the main deity all over the premises and people were very performing their own abhishekas then and there itself.
There was one big queue to go to the sanctum sanctorum and we ourselves with the help of the poojari found a place in the mandapam there to perform the pooja. After the pooja,we went in couples to have the darshan. The idol is unique one,to explain that i'll have to go in another blog!!!
We quickly went out to take some photos as the rain subsided little bit and had our breakfast in a small shop but the taste of their bread bhaji was very good.Though it was too oily,i coudn't resist myself from having a second helping and to mention here ,in all the places the coffee was very bad...And again it started drizzling and we'd to cancel the trip to Godavari's origin point :(
Then we headed to Nashik and saw all the historic places linked to Ramayan, the epic, there! My husband,my FIL and my elder son took a bath in the Godavari there!
